and at every precinct in East Tennessee should see at once that there is a plontiful supply of tickets at every voting-place on Election Day1-It should be remembered that I'd mes of all candidates to be voted for must Ibe printed of written on the same ticket We are prepared to print any quantity of tickets that may be ordered at short notice and at merely nominal prices Candidates County Committees and others ordering tickets should be particular in giving the names or Legislative candidates they desire placed on them and the number of tickets needed i LOCAL INTELLIGENCE 1 No (1 1 Gay rascality extravagance and corruption of the Radical party whole inr possession of the State Government and compared fbe Radical State Government witfy his own administration He showed that every day since he Democrats have taken" possession of the State Government expenses had been reduced and his own administration bas saved the people nearly a half million dollars He paid his respects to Mr Thomas and proved that when that gentleman was in the State Senate he voted all the time for high taxes favored the funding act and in a word voted in the interest of the railroad bond and other rings on every occasion There has All airing been a little squad of Thomas Democrats here but when Porter closed his address yesterday evening it had all been absorbed by the great Democratic party the ranks were closed up and a solid front waa presented to the enemy Oar people were delighted with their Governor and the Governor was well pleased with his visit Col Clement-son and Col Edwards each followed Gov Porter in short patriotic addresses and the people dispersed to their homes well pleased with their work There are but few white Rad icals in this section and they have all heretofore said they would not vote for Thomas because he is a repudiationist and that they could not vote for Yardley because he is a negro It remains to be seen wbat they will do now that the ex-Con federate Radical Maney is out of the way A prominent Republican of this section who occupies as prominent a position in his party as any man in lower East Tennessee stated yesterday that if he ascertained that those arrests had been made in Louisiana he would abandon the party at once and forever The tide rolls on Victory and relief is at hand The maddened Radic al leaders are working their own ruin Bradley Circassian showing that there are some at least of our colored citizens who have found out the hollownesss of Radical promises and look forward to better times when the country shall be rescued from the grasp of the dominant party The procession was the largest ever before seen at a political gathering in East Tennessee and shows that when i aroused to the dangers that menace them the people will rally in their might in defense of the purity of our institutions' BUbblnf Affray About ten last night a difficulty occurred near Stern's saloon on Gay street in which a negro named Sam' Houston the afternoon a large delegation of horsem*n arrived from Anderson county who marched up Gay street halting in front of the Lamar House where they were briefly addressed by Gen Cullom who cer-tiinly has a right to be proud of the Anderson county hoys Knox county did her duty nobly and the hardy yeomanry came pouring into the city by scores and fifties until Knoxville was alive with the moving
