Also, if your WiFi has multiple bands (like 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) please try each one.

Unable to scan the QR code from Streamlabs Desktop

Make sure the Streamlabs Controller app is closed before trying the following, and then try to scan with another app capable of scanning QR codes. It should open your browser app and then automatically redirect to the Streamlabs Controller app, log you into the app, and connect the Remote control feature.

Note: that it's possible the browser is blocking the redirection. If you are using Samsung's browser for example, you might either need to enable the QR code scanner integrated into the browser and scan from it OR use a dedicated QR code scanner app that isn't the built-in camera app.

If you are still unable to scan the QR code, you can try to manually connect, go to ⚙️Settings> Remote Control and click SHOW on the blurred QR-code and then click Show Details below the QR-code. Now go into the Streamlabs Controller app into Remote> Manual Connection here you'll be able to enter the corresponding information found on the Streamlabs Desktop Remote Control tab.

Connect RC with No/Broken Camera

This solution might work if you can run Streamlabs: Livestreaming app on an unsupported device where it notifies you that the scanner is not available yet (ex. Kindle Fire 5th Gen.).

If you have a mobile device with a broken or no camera and would like to use it for the Streamlabs Controller app, you could try the following steps to connect the Streamlabs: Livestreaming app to Streamlabs Desktop.

  1. Follow Steps 1 to 5 of the "Connect RC Over Local Network" steps listed above.
  2. Take a snapshot of the QR code and save this locally on your computer.
    • You can usewin-key+shift+sto take a snip of a region.
    • Windows 10 has a built-inSnipping Toolto snip a region and save.
    • Other third-party apps around can do the same.
  3. Decode the saved QR-code with a decoder likethis website
  4. Copy the raw or parsed text and email the link to yourself.
  5. Open the email on your mobile device and open the emailed link withStreamlabs: Livestreamingapplication.

It is possible to connect the RC via the internet, but some advanced network knowledge might be required. Also, keep in mind that if your home internet is on a dynamic IP address from your ISP, this IP can change, and you need to adjust this accordingly if changed.

  1. Make sure that SD is connected via Local Network first.

  4. Head to Remote> Manual Connection
  5. Change the IP to yourPublic IP address
    • To get your public address, you can check out whatismyip.com.
    • If you used another port to forward, replace the default port.
